We can't forget those that came before us, especially those that brought home the hardware.  But now it's time to rewrite the history books, and it starts with belief and commitment...

Now for OUR history, OUR story: I'm committed to helping WEST SOCCER players enjoy their high school soccer experience through individual and team improvement, and of course, success. I believe that there is no substitute for focus and hard work to achieve your goals, and thus I believe in a professional, highly-competitive atmosphere for our players that is designed to keep everyone striving to raise the standard. Attendance and performance will of course be considered in placement and playing time, but intangibles such as attitude, coachability, competitiveness, etc. carry weight as well.

Not only am I a coach, but I'm a fan of the game, and my concept of the game is for the players and for the fans, for success and for entertainment. We play with an attacking style, based on ball possession and movement.  In order to do that successfully, we must be technically good, and AT LEAST competent. Let's face it, if you can't trap and pass, you can't play the game, and tactics are moot.  Speaking of tactics, we must also be tactically aware and organized, which allows for greater freedom of expression because there's support and players aren't in fear of getting caught out-of-position. If we all commit to the TEAM, and the TEAM goals, i.e., be competitive, win a championship, etc., then our system of play will be very entertaining, and we'll get WEST SOCCER back in the title conversation.

The girls have two titles ('83 & '84) and have been to the title game 11 times.  That's a good record of overall success, but unfortunately it's been 4 years since we've been to a championship final, and obviously many more since we've won.  However, the time has come for a change and with our focus squarely on improving and competing, we have the capability and thus the chance to do good things.
